Irish Distillers welcomes Knappogue Castle and Clontarf Irish whiskeys to the family

In 2019 Pernod Ricard aquired an 89.52% stake in US spirits company, Castle Brands. This saw priority brands such as Jefferson’s Bourbon, Gosslings Rum, ginger ale, and of course Knappogue Castle and Clontarf Irish Whiskey brands.

The initial press release after the aquisition from Pernod Ricard, stated that Castle Brands became a wholly owned subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. It appears from today’s announcement from Irish Distillers Limited that the Knappogue Castle and Clontarf whiskeys have been fully taken under the wind of the IDL portfolio.

Conor McQuaid, Chairman and CEO of IDL, stated that “Knappogue Castle and Clontarf Irish whiskeys are now fully integrated into the Irish Distillers portfolio following Pernod Ricard’s acquisition of Castle Brands in 2019. Knappogue Castle and Clontarf will complement our existing offering of quality Irish whiskey brands.”

According to McQuaid, these whiskeys will have an Asian market focus, with goals on expanding the Irish premium single malt category in the region.
