Powerscout Distillery Launch First Own Distilled Single Malt – Fercullen Single Malt

The Powerscourt Distillery has announced its latest release, Fercullen Single Malt, the first own distilled expression from the Wicklow based distillery.

Until now, the Fercullen range has boasted both sourced and some own distilled distillate in their blends but Fercullen’s new Single Malt is the first 100% own distilled release from the distillery on the grounds of the historic Powerscourt estate.

According to Powerscourt Distillery, this is the first legal whiskey distilled in the garden county in over 100 years. This single malt was created utilising a marriage of casks of single malt laid down between September and November 2018. Bottled at 46% ABV this whiskey was solely comprised of a cask regime of ex-bourbon barrels, which the distillery boasts that these imbue the whiskey “Chock full with flavours of fresh apple tart”.
