Roe & Co. Release New Curators’ Series to Toast New Distillery

Tullamore D.E.W. 12 Year Old Special Reserve – A Review

This Special Reserve is a triple blend, much like the majority of the family, of malt, grain and pot still whiskeys. In the Tullamore blends, the pot still is the only component that receives sherry aging, and not all of the pot still included at that. The 12 Year Old, is renowned for its sherry forward nose and palate. Brian Kingsman, Master Blender for William Grant & Sons, who own Tullamore Distillery, creates this blend with whiskeys no younger than twelve years old, with a larger component of sherried pot still in the blend. The Silkie Blended Irish Whiskey – A Review

The Silkie Irish whiskey is the first independent bottling from the soon to be constructed Sliabh Liag Distillery in Co. Donegal. Plans are in place to have this distillery constructed at some point in 2019 and, here they will distill both single pot still and single malt whiskeys that will be triple distilled and peated, following the traditional peating of whiskey in the Donegal region. Advent #7 – Roe & Co. Whiskey

The world of Irish Whiskey was shocked when Diageo made the announcement, in 2014, that they would be selling their stake in the Old Bushmills Irish Whiskey Distillery. It seemed that they would be leaving the Irish whiskey industry, right as it was on the cusp of a boom. Well their inactivity didn’t last too long. Roe & Co.
