The Silkie Blended Irish Whiskey – A Review

The Silkie Irish whiskey is the first independent bottling from the soon to be constructed Sliabh Liag Distillery in Co. Donegal. Plans are in place to have this distillery constructed at some point in 2019 and, here they will distill both single pot still and single malt whiskeys that will be triple distilled and peated, following the traditional peating of whiskey in the Donegal region.

Red Spot – A Review

Unless you've been living under a rock recently you will be very aware that Irish Distillers just dropped the long awaited Red Spot Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey!  The whiskey was launched in the Mitchell & Sons old wine and whiskey maturation cellars, under the streets of Dublin's Merrion Square. This was a very fitting location for the brand to be re-introduced to the world after nearly fifty years in absentia. Teeling’s Single Pot Still – Marketing Launch of the Year

Few events this year have been as anticipated as the release of Teeling’s first Single Pot Still Whiskey, but wait no more, the whiskey is up for sale… at auction!   As I’m sure you all know, Teeling Whiskey’s spirit has just hit three years allowing it to be legally described as “Irish Whiskey”. Their first barrel that they are releasing to the general public is a very interesting, 50/50 (50% malted and 50% unmalted barley) Single Pot Still that has been aged exclusively in Muscat barrels.
